by Gojira_101 inlast week a friend of mine contacted me out of the blue asking if we could have lunch together.
my friend has been studing with the jw's on and off for about 11-12 years i think.
she has told me everytime i see her that she can't wait for jehovah to end this evil world...she can't wait for the new system...the end is so close....etc.. i sent her a message back telling her that i left the jw's and asked her if she had heard that.

Establishing the Premises Regarding "Jehovah's Channel"
by Ding intypically, when the topic of new light arises in discussions with a jw, it come about this way:.
1. wt critic cites discarded doctrines or false prophecies to the jw in order to undermine his faith in the gb.. 2. jw counters by citing proverbs 4:18, saying that changes are fine because the light gets brighter and brighter.. 3. wt critic gets frustrated because any sort of nonsense can be overlooked via that type of thought-stopping "logic.".
perhaps a better approach is to start by asking the jw to explain how the "jehovah's channel of communication" process works.

Skydiving/Parachuting. A disfellowship offense?
by stealthmode-brazil ini'm an active witness from brazil (who would leave if it weren't for my family/friends inside) and always dreamed about practicing skydiving.
but as radical sports are a no-no for witnesses... i wonder if any elder or ex-elder on this forum knows if an active jw, practices skydiving/parachuting once and/or regularly, can he or she be disfellowship on that basis?
i'm considering secretly jumping but afraid if someone finds out.

If you do go, don't tell anyone you're doing it. For your sake AND theirs.
I knew a young brother who'd done loads of jumps, he eventually died when his chute didn't open. Not long after, all his mates (brothers in the local congs who DID know about his jumping) got a right grilling and even a local needs talk about covering over sins of someone else... You wouldn't BELIEVE how insensitive that was. Oh wait, yes you probably would.

The missus leans over, points at the little picture and whispers "don't look up"!
(i wish I could post pictures here, sorry but you'll just have to look for yourself)
Later on, theres another picture, so I leaned across and pointed at one of the people depicted.. " he looked up"!
(this is completely meaningless without the pictures. Sorry. Epic fail.)
Much giggling ensued which culminated in my better half saying we were going straight to a specially created hell!
And all this the DAY after we'd had the first conversation about my doubts..
